KUNSTKURS
ART COURSE AT NUTHEIM
For more than 60 years, Nutheim – the Art Hotel of Telemark – has hosted participants of the painting course founded by Erlend Grøstad in 1961.
The course lasts five days and includes both theoretical instruction in the classroom and practical guidance in painting techniques, colour theory and composition, tailored to each individual participant. Landscape painting is a key focus of the course.
Participants may bring their own painting materials, or purchase everything from easels, canvases and sketchbooks to acrylic and oil paints, brushes, pencils and other art supplies in our on-site art materials shop.
“We place strong emphasis on holding the course outdoors in nature, but the week is adapted to weather conditions, and the schedule may be adjusted if necessary.”
“The course runs over five days, including arrival and departure days, and offers approximately 40 hours of instruction and practical work with mentor guidance. Teaching takes place in the Teaching Studio, outdoors in nature, and in the courtyard at Nutheim. Today, the course is based on the vision and ideas of Erlend Grøstad.”
